Accommodations through Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) are provided based on the student’s first-person understanding of their experience of their disability, supporting documentation from the student, and an understanding of how those impacts may create barriers to their academic engagement.
Students are not required to provide disability documentation or disclose diagnosis to instructors, Teaching Assistants, or Faculty Administration for the purposes of implementing accommodations.
Academic accommodations are provided for the purpose of removing barriers to equal access of learning opportunities for all students while also upholding academic integrity and allowing for standard academic challenge. Students with disabilities, like all students, are expected to meet the essential requirements of the curriculum.
