On May 24 and from June 18 to 21, ֱ is proud to welcome members of the Spring 2024 graduation class back to Kingston to celebrate Convocation.

 

All Applications for Graduation are made through the SOLUS Student Centre

Ceremony Broadcasts and Recordings

 

 

 

June Ceremony Venue, Arrival, and Details

All June 2024 ceremonies will be held at the Slush Puppie Place (formerly Leon's Centre). 

Graduates:

  • Please arrive 2 hours prior to the ceremony start time (for ceremonies that begin at 10 am, arrive by 8 am. For 3 pm ceremonies, arrive by 1 pm)
  • There will be lots of standing – we encourage you to wear comfortable shoes!
  • Bring photo ID, but leave other personal items at home or with a family member
  • Hood and Gown Rentals: Online preorders can be placed via the Gaspard/AMS 'Build A Grad' portal (). Same-day ordering will be available..

Guests:

  • The deadline for graduates to reserve guest tickets (up to 3 per attending graduate) is May 26
  • Doors open 90 minutes before ceremony time
  • There is no assigned seating
  • Graduate procession is scheduled to start 25 minutes before ceremony start time
  • Ceremonies are expected to be approximately 2 hours

Bags and Belongings:  

  • There is no guest coat check. Please minimize bags/belongings.   

  • Bags will be subject to a cursory visual check to ensure prohibited items are not brought into the building. Prohibited items include:  

    • Noisemakers, such as cow bells, air horns, musical instruments, megaphones, drums, or electronic noisemakers  

    • Aerosol cans (e.g. silly string)  

    • Liquids , except for personal water bottles. Additional exceptions will be made for accessibility.  

    • Large signs, banners, or flags that may obstruct the view of other guests  

    • Pamphlets, handouts, advertisements for distribution 

    • Items that could physically cause harm to other individuals or damage to the facilities 

    • Pets, except service animals (as defined by the Queen’s policy)

Please note: Some of the graduates and guests in attendance suffer from sensitivities due to scented products. We kindly request that you consider refraining from wearing scented products to this event.

Park on Campus and Ride a Kingston Transit (KT) Bus Downtown – Free!

  • Avoid traffic! Come to campus and park for free in or dedicated convocation lots
  • Hop on a city bus at and head downtown for free!
    • Please confirm with the driver that you are going to Slush Puppie Place for convocation
  • Hop off at any regular downtown bus stop and walk to Slush Puppie Place
  • Click “Commuter Services” on our for all campus parking lots and city bus stops
  • You can ride any city bus back to your parking spot for free after your ceremony
    • Remember to tell the driver you have been at convocation

Park and Pay Downtown

Please note: there are lane restrictions on the if you are approaching Slush Puppie Place from Hwy 15/2.

Due to capacity and seating limits, graduates who have RSVP'd are limited to three (3) guests.(Deadline is May 26)

Please note that physical tickets will not be issued. Guests will provide the name of their graduating student to ushering staff upon arrival.

Online preorders can be placed via the Gaspard/AMS 'Build A Grad' portal () from December 15, 2023 to

  • May 3, 2024 at 11:50 pm (EST) for those graduating May 24, 2024
  • May 16, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST) for those graduating between June 18 and 21, 2024

Online Pricing:

  • $35.00 for undergraduate and Master's regalia,
  • $40.00 for Ph.D. regalia with or without graduation cap
  • $55.00 for Ph.D. regalia with beefeater.

Same Day (Onsite) Pricing:

  • $70.00 for undergraduate and Master's regalia
  • $80.00 for Ph.D regalia with or without graduation cap
  • $110.00 for Ph.D. regalia with beefeater.
  • If you did not rent online, please bring your Student ID, or Photo ID. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit and prepaid credit cards. 

 

Degree, Diploma, and Certificate Pickup 

Parchments for Spring 2024 graduates will be available for pick up after the ceremony when you return your regalia. Photo identification is required.

On-Site Photos

At Slush Puppie Place, after your ceremony, you can return your rental gown and hood right away, or you can meet your family and friends and take photos before returning your gown and hood. 

  • Gowns and hoods must then be returned at the King St. entrance.
  • Find information on purchasing convocation flowers.
