Queen's succeeds in Ontario Online funding
In 2014, Ontario’s government announced that it would establish a new collaborative that aims to drive new online learning opportunities for university and college students across the province.
The Centre will be run by colleges and universities as an independent not-for-profit enterprise and will be supported with funding from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, as part of its Ontario Online initiative.
In 2014, Queen’s was one of 19 post-secondary institutions to apply for funding and was awarded with , the highest number of funded proposals awarded. Again in 2015, Queen’s was out of the 94 across Ontario that were awarded funding.
In total, 24 of these online courses are being developed by within the Faculty of Arts and Science in conjunction with academic departments. Below is the complete list of being developed by CDS as part of the Ontario Online initiative:
