Introduction
Dr. Sharon Regan is a Professor in the Biology Department where her research focuses on Plant Biotechnology. She co-teaches one of the largest courses in the Faculty, each year introducing up to 1250 first-year students to the wonders of Biology. In addition to previously being Associate Head and Acting Head of Biology, Sharon has previously joined the Dean’s Office twice, first as Acting Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research (2016-17), and then as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (2019-2022). She has held a broad range of research grants ranging from NSERC Discovery, NSERC Strategic, NSERC CREATE, Canada Foundation for Innovation, Protein Engineering Network Centre of Excellence, and large-scale Genome Canada grants.
