2024/25 Academic Year
There are a limited number of upper-year spaces for the 2024-25 academic year. The Upper Year community will be in Watts Hall. All rooms are Single Plus style.

- Applications are due by February 7th at 4pm ET.
If we receive more applications than spaces available, a lottery will be run to allocate the available spaces. If necessary, the lottery will be held the week of February 12th.
Health Accommodations
The deadline for applying for a health or non-health accommodation is February 7th, 2024. This form is available on your Student Residence and Dining Portal. Please reach out to reshouse@queensu.ca if you have any questions.

If you are successful in the upper-year lottery, you must pay a non-refundable $800 deposit. Lottery success results will be provided the week of February 12th. Visit the Registrar’s Financials Page for details on how to pay your deposit.

The self-selection process allows you to choose your room allocation as an upper-year student living in residence for 2024-25. A self-selection window will open for students who were successful in the upper-year residence lottery, where room selection will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We will send information the week of February 26th with the self-selection date and time and specific instructions for the process of selecting your room. The Residence Admissions team may have to place students in their rooms manually in certain circumstances.
Self-selection is scheduled to be held the week of March 4th, 2024. All students who were successful in the upper-year lottery will receive a self-selection date and time the week of February 26th, 2024.

Residence is not guaranteed for exchange, transfer, or graduate students. Please email reshouse@queensu.ca to express your interest in living in residence. We will contact you in the event that a space becomes available. You must be taking a full course load in an on-campus program. Please note that residence is a high-density living environment, and that the majority of students are in their first year. We cannot guarantee a particular campus, building, or room style.
