LLCU Professor Donato Santeramo has been named the Artistic Director of the Matera Film Festival.

The Matera Film Festival is set to take place from November 3 to 10, offering an exciting lineup of films and cultural events. This year, the festival proudly announces internationally renowned and award-winning Canadian artists Arsinée Khanjian, a celebrated performer, and Atom Egoyan, an acclaimed director, as its guests of honour and jury presidents.

In collaboration with the International First Peoples' Festival in Montreal, the festival's indigenous section will feature "The Café Daughter", directed by Shelley Niro. This 97-minute Canadian film from 2023 has been honored with the AIR CANADA Matera-Montreal Best Indigenous Film award.

The festival promises a rich exploration of cinematic arts, and attendees are encouraged to partake in the screenings and discussions that celebrate diversity and storytelling from around the world.
