Exchange Bursary Application (strongly recommended)

  • Eligibility: Domestic and international students
  • Deadline: January 15

The goal of the Exchange Bursary is to help off-set the cost of studying and living in Kingston, with studying and living on exchange.

All applicants wishing to apply for a Bursary should complete the on the Financial Aid and Awards website. Please ensure you submit it to the Financial Aid and Awards Office by the published deadline. Successful applicants will then be considered by Financial Aid and Awards for financial assistance.

As part of the assessment for a ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Exchange Study bursary, there is an emphasis on assisting those students who have and continue to demonstrate need over and above funding available through government student financial assistance. In order to be considered for exchange bursary assistance, all domestic students (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) are required to apply for government student financial assistance. Domestic students will be expected to have qualified for a minimum amount of government student financial assistance, typically $5000.

When reviewing exchange bursary applications, Financial Aid and Awards takes into account a student's total expenses for the full academic year (tuition, books and supplies, cost of living, flight cost). Financial Aid and Awards also looks at the student's total resources for the full academic year. If eligible for bursary assistance, the value will include bursary assistance for the term of exchange and the term at Queen’s, or if a full year exchange, it will be for both the Fall and Winter terms.

Apply through Financial Aid and Awards

Students can hold renewable entrance awards while on the exchange program. On their return, an official record of their academic performance must be submitted to the Financial Aid and Awards Office to enable the committee to evaluate their performance for renewal of their scholarship for the following year.
