Accommodation Options
On-Campus
A limited number of spaces in Jean Royce Hall are available for exchange students. Jean Royce Hall single private rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Students can choose to cook or participate in an optional meal plan. The optional residence internet service is known as ResNet. See what is provided by Residence in their .
All residence allocations are made through a lottery system and housing in residence cannot be guaranteed. See for more details including relevant deadlines and application details. Off-Campus
Many exchange students elect to live off-campus. The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ International Centre (QUIC) provides resources to assist students to locating housing. See QUIC's website for more details. You can access additional resources through the Off-Campus Living Adviser.
Finding living arrangements in Kingston can be a challenge – especially in the Fall term. We recommend students who choose to live off-campus should come to Kingston at least one week in advance to find adequate accommodation if they have not secured accommodation prior to travelling.
Student Services
¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ International Centre (QUIC)
provides non-academic support service for international exchange students through its various programs and activities throughout the academic year. QUIC has a wealth of expertise in helping students with areas such as:
- visa requirements for studying in Canada
- health insurance information
- cost of living
- advising and counselling on non-academic matters
- general information about living in Kingston
- orientation and welcome program
- English language support
The QUIC staff and volunteers also plan a number of events and trips throughout the academic year to introduce international to the unique aspects of Kingston and the surrounding area. Student Wellness Services (SWS)
Student Wellness Services provides a welcoming, confidential, and integrated service that is responsive to the health, wellness, and accessibility needs of students. Exchange students can access counselling services, health promotion events, accessibility services, workshops and many other SWS supports during their time at Queen’s.
Student Academic Success Services (SASS)
comprises Learning Strategies and the Writing Centre. SASS offers academic support to students who wish to develop their skills in critical thinking, reading, learning, studying, writing, and self-management. Learning Strategies offers targeted support tailored to international students with a number of resources.
