Exchange Opportunities with French Studies

The department of French Studies highly encourages students to travel abroad to study. While being immersed in different cultures and lifestyles, students will develop a fuller appreciation of the French language and have an opportunity to study it in greater depth.

 Students enrolled in a French Plan are encouraged to go on exchange in their third year of studies. Students may choose to study abroad for the Fall or Winter Terms or for the entirety of the academic year. 

 The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ International Programs Office coordinates study abroad experiences for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts & Science.

 Exchange 101 information sessions are held on a regular basis each Fall. IPO staff and student volunteers will answer all your questions about an Arts and Science exchange experience.

Second Language Summer Bursary Program

'EXPLORE'

EXPLORE logo

 The Explore program provides you the opportunity to discover another region of Canada while immersing yourself in French. You will have five full weeks to improve your knowledge of French, make discoveries, meet new people, and exchange ideas. The sessions are taught at accredited institutions, and students can live on campus or with local host families.

Permission to take courses
at another institution

DOMESTIC

To take a course at another Canadian university and obtain a transfer of credit towards their degree, students must apply for a Letter of Permission. Please see Applying for a Letter of Permission in SOLUS for instructions.
