Welcome to Academic Writing at Queen’s
In the Academic Writing Program at Queen’s, a team of dedicated writing teachers mentors students in the development of their writing and editing skills. Courses focus on the fundamentals of effective writing and engage students further in writing and editing in various genres and contexts:
- Essay writing and other types of academic writing
- Business writing
- Editing in academic and professional contexts
- Writing for social media and the web
- Writing for the community.
In a student-centred, personalized, coaching approach to writing instruction, students are empowered to discover and strengthen their unique voices: to express their ideas clearly and effectively, to address with impact important contemporary issues, and to contribute to meaningful change in their communities.
