Dissertation
Jamie's dissertation is on women’s hockey narratives, and due to the lack of critical and creative sources on women’s hockey he turned to ethnographic research where he followed a Canadian Women’s Hockey League team over the course of the (league’s final) season and interviewed players on their personal experiences in the sport. His research also looks at the representation, or lack thereof, of women in sports novels and films both as athletes and in supporting roles.
