Congratulations to English professor Helen Humphreys, Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, who was awarded an honorary doctorate. Dr. Sam McKegeny was in attendance, and he had to say of Helen's speech that:
"As she was awarded her honorary doctorate, she captivated the graduating students in an exploration of the sonnet as a metaphor for life. Recognizing that all our lives will have a turn, or 'volta,' she entreated the students not to fear but to 'embrace the turn.'"
