The Annual Page Lecture Event 2021

The Department of English is pleased to invite you on October 19th at 2:30 p.m. EST to the annual Page Lecture in honour of the late poet and painter Joanne Page, this year featuring the esteemed novelist, poet, and non-fiction writer Helen Humphreys. On this the tenth anniversary of the lecture series, Humphreys brings the series back to its source with a lecture about the life, work, and influence of Joanne Page herself, in an event entitled 鈥淭he Annotated Page.鈥 Humphreys will be introduced by Kirsteen MacLeod, author of In Praise of Retreat.

Helen Humphreys is the award-winning writer of four books of poetry, five works of creative non-fiction, and nine novels. Her work has been translated into many languages, published internationally, and optioned for stage, film, television, and opera. She has been the Queen鈥檚 Writer in Residence and is currently teaching Creative Writing 393: Intermediate Writing in Prose. Her most recent novel is Rabbit Foot Bill (HarperCollins Canada, 2020). Humphreys lives and works in Kingston, Ontario.
