A silver lining of the remote delivery of the MIR program during 2020-21 academic year is that we were able to “bring in” an incredible number of our wonderful Alumni to speak virtually with our MIR class, in a variety of ways! It all began when we had an overwhelming response to our call for Orientation Week Alumni Roundtable participants - we needed to channel this generosity! One innovation was a weekly “Coffee Hour” series, where alumni joined us virtually to share their experiences since completing the MIR – their first jobs, career paths, surprises along the way, and advice for our students in the short and long-term. Other alumni joined us as guest speakers within our courses, while others acted as ambassadors during MIR and PMIR recruitment webinars, helping potential students to see the program through their experience. And of course, we continued with the traditional Safka and Winkler Speaker Series. While we missed the in-person experience of hosting you on campus, there is certainly something to be said for being able to easily hop onto a Zoom session for an hour. We are so grateful to all of our wonderful, accomplished, and generous Alumni who volunteered to share their time and expertise with us this year, in the variety of ways noted above! Many thanks to:
