Sheila Skelton Menzies Lecture Series

Arthur Menzies (1916-2010) served in the Canadian foreign service from 1940 until his retirement in 1982.  After the death of his wife, Sheila, he established a lecture series at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ in her memory.  Sheila was the daughter of O.D. Skelton, a professor of political and economic science and dean of arts at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ before being appointed as the under-secretary of state for external affairs in 1925.  The Sheila Skelton Menzies lecture is given on a topic in international relations or Canadian foreign policy, and is co-sponsored by the Centre for International and Defence Policy and the Department of Political Studies.
