Hate crime and hate propaganda have long been issues of concern for Kingston and ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ community members. While the community has come together on many occasions to condemn blatant forms of harassment and discrimination, hate activity can, at times, be a challenge to address. How do we seek justice for crimes committed under the cloak of anonymity? How do we negotiate fine lines between freedom of expression and respect for the rights and dignity of communities vulnerable to hateful attacks? This project is part of a series of initiatives developed by the AMS Social Issues Commission and the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Human Rights Office to respond to the issue of hate groups and hate activity, and to educate community members about these issues. |

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) help create an inclusive workplace by giving equity-seeking groups a formal structure within an organization to support their unique needs. ERGs provide opportunities for community building within organizations. They can also give employees opportunities for professional development and help the organization recruit and provide appropriate feedback to employees. When managed and used effectively, ERGs also provide an avenue for employees to learn more about diverse groups. ERGs may coordinate activities such as networking events, speaker series, professional development activities, and mentoring programs. ERGs may also provide development opportunities for employees including project and budget management, public speaking practice, and chairing meetings. |
