����ֱ��

This October, a delegation from ����ֱ�� met with universities in China to enhance long-standing relationships, promote educational exchanges, and advance new collaborations. The delegation included senior officials and scholars from multiple faculties of ����ֱ��. During their time in China, the delegation visited the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, Tongji University, Fudan University, and Peking University.

����ֱ�� and the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office (SFO) celebrated 20 years of partnership. Since 2000, the SFO has sent one staff member to ����ֱ�� to study for a Master's degree every year, with 10 alumni currently working in the SFO. During the visit, the two sides renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to continue sending students to ����ֱ�� and held a signing ceremony. The delegation also met with alumni working in the SFO.

����ֱ��'s visit to Tongji University strengthened the relationship, first established in 2012. ����ֱ�� and Tongji University have carried out exchange programs across faculties, including the Smith School of Business and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The two sides also celebrated the long-term work happening within the Sino-Canada Center for Environment and Sustainable Development, of which Tongji University is one of ����ֱ�� most active Chinese partners. During the visit, ����ֱ�� presented a certificate of appreciation to a distinguished scholar from Tongji University.

����ֱ��'s visit to Fudan University focused on celebrating the 25th anniversary of the partnership. Fudan University is the institution with which Queen’s University has signed the most academic agreements in mainland China, encompassing multi-faculty exchange programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, research agreements, study abroad agreements, and a double degree program in Law. Fudan is also a founding partner of the Sino-Canada Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development, which was jointly initiated by Queen’s University and Fudan University in 2009 to promote international exchanges and cooperation in the field of environment.

While visiting Peking University, the delegation talked about the 20-year relationship between our institutions. Over the past two decades, more than 250 students have participated in student exchange programs. Queen’s University is a founding member of the “Future Leaders Program” (2+2), led by the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. This program allows Queen’s University students to complete two years of business studies at Queen’s University and two years at Peking University, earning degrees from both institutions, with scholarship support from Peking University.
