The Queen’s community is mourning the loss of Indigenous playwright and Professor Emeritus Daniel David Moses. Daniel passed away on Monday, July 13th 2020 at the age of 68.

Daniel was Delaware from Six Nations of the Grand River where he was born. He will be remembered as a talented playwright, poet and cherished faculty member of Queen’s University. Daniel was appointed as a Queen’s National Scholar in 2003 in the Department of Drama and in 2016, he was inducted as a Fellow to the Royal Society of Canada. Notable plays, poetry and works include “The Indian Medicine Show”, “Almighty Voice and His Wife”, “Pursued by a Bear: Talks, Monologues and Tales” and “Delicate Bodies”.
