Jacob is a second-year Ph.D. student at Queen鈥檚 University. He studies nineteenth-century North America, focusing on the Fur Trade, Euro-Indigenous relations, and the British Empire. His MPhil dissertation critiqued the role of the 鈥淏arrier State鈥 in Anglo-Indigenous alliances during the War of 1812. Under the supervision of Dr. Scott Berthelette, his Ph.D. dissertation will investigate the development of the fur trade and Indigenous communities in the Rocky Mountains.
