Heather is a third year PhD candidate working under the supervision of Dr. Amitava Chowdhury. Her research interests include the British Empire and Commonwealth in the 20th century, decolonization, and global history. Her doctoral research will focus on the development of the Commonwealth of Nations and its relationship to decolonization and nation-building in the former British Empire. Heather completed her undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC before coming to ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ in 2020 as an MA student.
Heather is a student fellow at the Global History Initiative based at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Department of History. She is also the graduate representative on the department's EDII committee.
Outside of history, she enjoys knitting and complaining about the weather in Ontario.
