Shaelyn Ryan (MA 2023) & Ashlyn Gregory (MA 2023) secure positions in the heritage sector

Two recent, award-winning graduates of the ֱ History Master's program have been successful in finding jobs related to their historical research. 

Shaelyn Ryan (MA, 2023) has accepted a position as Assistant Curator of the , housed in the Department of History at Western University. Shaelyn’s MA thesis, “Missing Parts: A Critical Analysis of Amputees and Disability History in Three Canadian Archives and Museums,” is based in part on Shaelyn’s years of volunteering at the Museum of Health Care in Kingston and received the department's MA thesis prize.

Ashlyn Gregory (MA, 2023) is working as a paid Collections Intern at the . Ashlyn’s thesis, “The Book of Truants: An Analysis of the Disciplinary-Documentary Apparatus of Truancy in Kingston, 1911-1919,” examines an early twentieth-century truancy ledger she first encountered at the Schools Museum. Ashlyn was awarded the Andrew Haydon Prize in Colonial History as part of the department's 2022 undergraduate awards.

Congratulations to both Shaelyn and Ashlyn on completing their MA degrees and finding history-related work in the heritage sector!
