New exhibit researched and curated by students in Steven Maynard’s HIST 312: Canadian Social History

Over 100 people turned out to help launch "The Taste of the Library," an exhibit of historical Canadian cookbooks curated by the students of HIST 312: Canadian Social History. After a welcome by Alvan Bregman and Jillian Sparks of Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections, students guided the audience through a tour of the five cases that make up the different themes of the exhibit. Also in attendance were Paul Banfield, the University Archivist, Dr. Rebecca Manley, chair of the History Department, along with the family and friends of many of the students. In this selection of photos and media links, students talk about their work on the exhibit. Congratulations to the students for producing an exhibit with both historical rigor and popular appeal.
