The Department of History welcomed a vibrant new cohort of graduate students to Queen’s at our annual graduate luncheon on Friday, September 8. The luncheon was our most successful yet, with record numbers and lively conversation among new and returning students, faculty, and staff. The event was one manifestation among many of our thriving graduate program. This year, our incoming PhD class numbers 18 and is the largest in the Faculty of Arts and Science. It includes students from across Canada and from a handful of other countries, working on topics spanning the entire globe. The Master’s program is also going strong: this year’s class includes 22 new students, and a record 12 returning students who opted for the recently renewed thesis stream of the program. The success of our program was also recognized in the selection of Andrew Jainchill, our Graduate Chair, as one of two by the School of Graduate Studies. Welcome to all our new students and congratulations to Andrew!
