Eight ordinary things that made Canadian history. In this core seminar, students will learn fundamental historiographical and critical thinking skills by exploring eight "things" in Canadian popular culture and the historical factors, documents, opinions and contexts behind them. In the Fall, we'll look at the Super Series 72, Stanley Park, doughnuts and coffee, and the North American house hippo, and in Winter, Paul Anka’s “Diana”, Eaton’s catalogue, Bonhomme Carnaval and a hospital bracelet
