Tabitha Renaud, who grew up nearby in Leeds County on a seven-generation family farm, graduated with a doctorate from Queen’s History in 2019. Tabitha still works at Queen’s University, and one of her many hats includes being a Course Coordinator in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. She enjoys working with a great team to support engineering students, their instructors, and their teaching assistants.
Tabitha also serves as the Director of the Murney Tower Museum. This little Martello tower is the oldest operating museum in Kingston and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tabitha is the Programming Coordinator for the Kingston Regional Heritage Fair, and part of her duties include arranging workshops for hundreds of school children annually. She has a long history of working with various museums, and was formerly President of the Kingston Association of Museums, Art Galleries and Historic Sites (KAM), representing over 30 cultural heritage sites in the region. She has worked in the past at the Museum of Health Care, the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, and the Delta Mill Museum, and has served on the Boards of Directors or Advisory Boards for many organizations, including Beyond Classrooms Kingston, the Kingston Historical Society, and Smith Falls Heritage House.
