Emily Marrocco

I was part of the Queen’s History Department from 1992-1996, and fondly look back on lively and engaging afternoons taking American cultural history courses with Professor Geoff Smith. Professor Smith’s courses forever changed the way I consumed popular culture, as they demonstrated the way that books, art, and film are as much about entertainment as they are reflections of the time periods in which they are made. After Queen’s, I went to law school, and currently work as an Assistant Crown Attorney for the Guns and Gangs Initiative in Toronto. As it happens, I am two offices down from a woman I first met in my History 121 seminar group, so I guess it’s fair to say that my experiences in Queen’s History have stayed with me ever since.
