My doctoral work is supervised by Prof. Karen Dubinsky. It focuses on the history of social, political and economic conflicts over toys in Canada. The thesis, titled "Objects of Affection: Producing and Consuming Toys and Childhood in Canada, 1840-1989" is slated for defence in September 2013. My previous work focused on the economic and political history of continentalism in late nineteenth century Canada. I maintain an active interest in public history, digital humanities, the history of children and youth, the history of play, Canadian social, political and economic history and the history of North American popular culture.
