Professor T. Kurt Kyser, pioneering and world-renowned geochemist, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, died while teaching in Bermuda on August 29, 2017. A member of the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering at Queen’s University since 1995, he founded and directed the Queen’s Facility for Isotope Research (QFIR) one of the leading geochemistry laboratories in North America.
The legacy of Dr. Kyser, who produced more than 500 peer-reviewed papers, books, book chapters, and technical reports, is the hundreds of former students and post-doctoral fellows that he mentored. Each was inspired and challenged by his insight, creativity and gift for problem-solving.
In loving memory of Kurt and his deep commitment to education and ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, the T. Kurt Kyser Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established.
