It is with deep sadness and regret that I announce to the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ community the passing of Principal Emeritus Ronald Lampman Watts. Dr. Watts served as the university's 15th principal from 1974-‘84, and remained a beloved and respected member of the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ community in the years following his retirement.
In addition to numerous other achievements, Dr. Watts was the recipient of five honorary degrees and became an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1979 and a Companion in 2000.
On behalf of the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ community, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Dr. Watts' wife Donna and the entire Watts family.
More information about a service at the university to honour Dr. Watts will be made public as it becomes available.
