The 2015-16 round of the (QNS) program is now open, and academic units are invited to submit expressions of interest (EOI) to their respective Dean’s office.
“The aim of the QNS program is to attract promising early-and mid-career faculty to Queen’s who are emerging leaders in both teaching and research,” says Laeeque Daneshmend, Deputy Provost, who co-chairs the QNS advisory committee with Steven Liss, Vice-Principal (Research). “This year, the application deadline has been moved up slightly to allow additional time for units to recruit high quality candidates.”
For the 2015-16 competition academic units are required to submit their EOI to the relevant Dean’s office by Sept. 8, rather than in October as in previous years.

During the first stage of the competition, expressions of interest will be evaluated by the QNS advisory committee based on alignment with the priorities of the faculty or school, as well as the university's priorities as outlined in the , and that is appended to our . Interdisciplinary and cross-faculty submissions are strongly encouraged.
Four applications will be selected to move to the second stage, where departments will undertake a recruitment process to identify a prospective candidate and then submit full proposals to their Dean’s office by March 11, 2016.
The QNS advisory committee will then evaluate the proposals and make a recommendation to the principal as to which nominees should receive an offer for a QNS position.
The QNS program provides $100,000 annually for five years for each appointment, and funding for the program allows for a maximum of two QNS appointments in each annual competition.
