LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell selected as new EFAP provider

Queen’s University has selected LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell as the new provider of its Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), with a launch date of May 1, 2021.
LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell was chosen as the successful bidder in a Request for Proposals (RFP) process and will provide Queen’s employees with counselling expertise, education sessions, formal referrals, crisis response, and a manager consultation and advice line. Service areas include: fitness and physical health; mental health; relationships; nutrition; finances; elder care; legal advice; and much more. All services are completely confidential.
Effective April 26, Queen’s employees and their families can call 1-877-789-7572 to access any of the LifeWorks EFAP services or visit the for further details on programs and services. Any currently active cases managed by Homewood Health will remain with Homewood Health until completion, even beyond May 1.
“The benefits of a strong EFAP have become abundantly clear during these unprecedented times as the COVID-19 pandemic has put extra strain on all of us and our families,” says Steve Millan, Associate Vice-Principal (Human Resources). “Our EFAP offers 24/7 confidential support 365 days a year for you and your families. The EFAP is a proactive service to provide you with the support you need in the moment that may prevent more significant challenges in the future.”
Utilization of the EFAP by employees has increased by over 30 per cent since 2017.
Morneau Shepell is well-known at the university and currently delivers the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate program. 155 Queen’s leaders have completed the certificate since the program started in 2018.
