International Education at Queen's Conference

The International Education at Queen’s Conference will engage in a week of empowering stories and tools for international students and research.

The Queen’s community is invited to celebrate the  global experiences of students, staff, and faculty as part of a new conference marking International Education Week, which runs Nov 15-21. Hosted by the Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) and Student Academic Success Services (SASS) in Student Affairs, interactive sessions and panels, presentations, and social media posts will explore the importance of international education and its impact, both academically and in the community.

“We want to celebrate the creation of international education opportunities and initiatives in post-secondary,” says Sultan Almajil, Director of QUIC. “Our focus is to showcase the work and perspectives of students, staff and faculty from different parts of the globe and to create a platform that inspires dialogue, learning, and promotes further understanding. We look forward to welcoming members from the campus community as they attend and participate in our scheduled sessions, online and in-person.”

The International Education at Queen’s Conference will spotlight research from international students, and research with an international theme. The complete schedule, as well as recording of the sessions and chances to enter giveaways, can be found on the conference website.

To hear more from international students at Queen’s, the features voices and perspectives of international students. Produced by QUIC and SASS, episode topics include culture shock, developing your authorial voice and navigating housing in Canada.
