Art McDonald (Physics, Engineering Physics and Astronomy) and Professor John Smol (Biology) were among four honorary degree recipients recognized at the convocation ceremonies of Mount Allison University on Monday, May 16.
Professor emeritus McDonald, the winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics, and Dr. Smol, the Canada Research Chair in Environmental Change and 3M Teaching Fellow, were honoured for their contributions in the fields of neutrino oscillations and ecology.
The ceremonies at the Sackville, N.B.-based university were presided over by Chancellor Peter Mansbridge and President and Vice-Chancellor Robert Campbell, with approximately 470 graduates receiving their degrees.
