The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, P.C., Q.C., M.P. (Puglaas) – Canada's first Indigenous Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and Canada's first elected female Independent Member of Parliament – has been a leader among Indigenous peoples advocating for the proper recognition and implementation of Indigenous rights. On May 19 at 4:30 p.m., she will speak to the Queen’s community over Zoom on the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the work that still needs to be done to advance reconciliation.

During the lecture, the Honourable Ms. Wilson-Raybould will discuss a variety of topics related to the issue, including why governments struggle to effect true reconciliation and the role that UNDRIP can play in driving the real change that is needed.

The lecture will be hosted by the School of Policy Studies (SPS) as part of the Tom Courchene Distinguished Speakers Series.
