The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Gaels are in action on numerous fronts this weekend. Here's a rundown of when and where to catch your Gaels in action at home, or how to follow them on the road.

Game of the Week

Men's and Women's Soccer: Women's and men's soccer host Trent this Sunday on Miklas-McCarney Field at 1 pm and 3:15 pm in the game of the week. When the Gaels faced Trent on the road two weeks ago, the men's team won 1-0 with a rocket of a free-kick from captain Chris Michael, and the women played to a nail-biting 0-0 draw. Saturday, the Gaels will be on the road to Oshawa to take on UOIT. The Gaels hosted UOIT two weeks ago, with the men's team collecting a 1-0 win, while the women fell 1-0 in their first loss of the season to the No.5 Ridgebacks.

Football: The Gaels travel to Hamilton to take on the No.4 Marauders at 1 pm on Saturday at McMaster's homecoming. Last weekend, the Gaels faced a tough loss against No.6 Guelph, falling 66-0. The Gryphons scored early and were able to hold the Gaels offence off the board. Highlighting ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ defensive efforts was defensive lineman Derek Wiggan, who finished with five solo tackles, all coming for losses, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. Wiggan is now the Gaels all-time leader in tackles for losses, with 36 in his career, and moves into third place for most QB sacks in a career at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥. Last season, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ defensive back Yann Dika-Balotoken stole the show, as the Gaels beat the Marauders 31-24. Dika-Balotoken returned two second half interceptions for touchdowns, the first of which was 99 yards, and the second was 70 yards.

Women's Rugby: The Gaels host Trent on Nixon Field Saturday at 1 pm. Last week the Gaels traveled to Toronto, shutting out the Varsity Blues in an 81-0 victory. With a quick start the game,Lauren McEwen put the first try and conversion on the board in the fifth minute. McEwen continued to lead the Gaels, finishing with a total of three tries and seven conversions. ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ showcased their depth in the dominant win, with nine different players getting on the scoresheet. A strong Trent team will give the Gaels a challenge this weekend at home.

Men's Rugby: The Gaels head to Hamilton to play the McMaster Marauders on Sunday at 2 pm. ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ is undefeated in their first three games of the season, while McMaster is has won all four of their games this year. Last weekend, the Gaels played at Brock's homecoming, winning a tight match 24-17. The Gaels broke through Brock defense with point scorers Kainoa Lloyd, Brendan Sloan and David Worsley. The Badgers fought back, scoring two tries and a conversion, but could not catch the Gaels. ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ will play another tough opponent this weekend in Hamilton.

Rowing: The Gaels are in Ottawa this Sunday for the Head of the Rideau Regatta, with their first race of the season starting at 9 am. Last year the women claimed silver overall and the men rowed to a bronze overall at the OUA Championship, so ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ will be in the medal hunt this weekend.

Women's Hockey: The Gaels hit the road, heading to Boston to play exhibition games against Boston College on Friday at 7 pm and Boston University on Saturday at 3 pm. With the start of the season just two weeks away, the Gaels are getting a few more games in before the puck drops in the OUA.
