The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Gaels women's basketball team once again came out champions in the annual Shoot for the Cure game, but it had nothing to do with their exploits on the court.
While the team did score a 69-51 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) on Saturday night, the Gaels also raised $5,700 for breast cancer research.
For the second straight year members of the Gaels women's basketball program also made the cut by donating a minimum of eight inches of hair following the game.
Participating in the hair-cutting ceremony this year were Megan Saftich, Katharina Holt, Marianne Alarie, Maddie Morris along with student athletic therapy trainer Chris Brooker and student strength and conditioning trainer Stephanie Edmunds.
