The second honorary degree of Fall Convocation was conferred upon poet and novelist m. nourbeSe Philip during Wednesday afternoon’s ceremony at Grant Hall.

The day featured many graduates from the Faculty of Education’s teacher education program, including the Indigenous Teacher Education Program (ITEP), as well as graduates from the Faculty of Arts and Science and the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.

Ceremonies continue Thursday and Friday.

Social media celebrations

Throughout Fall Convocation, the celebration of graduating students takes place online as well. Queen’s will be using #QueensUgrad2023 across social media platforms (, , ) and encourages others to do the same. Queen’s will also share photos of the ceremonies on the university’s social media channels over the week.
