Queen’s University Psychiatry expert Dr. Ronald Shore is available for media interviews on a new grant from the Canadian Cancer Society, with support from Brain Canada, that will fund pioneering research exploring how psilocybin and mindfulness can ease anxiety, depression, and hopelessness in people facing advanced cancer.

Dr. Shore, in collaboration with Dr. Linda Carlson at the University of Calgary, will lead a national team working to break down barriers to psychedelic-assisted cancer therapy. Together, they will engage patients from all backgrounds, train healthcare providers, and launch a large-scale clinical trial that could transform treatment approaches — and potentially influence national health policy.
