Post-doc training office boosts online profile

The Office of Post-Doctoral Training (OPDT) has launched a website that will help prospective, incoming and current post-doctoral fellows discover support services and events that cater to their interests and needs.
“We strive to provide information to help post-docs further their careers and to support them and their families as they become members of the Queen’s and Kingston community,” says Rebecca Hügler, Co-ordinator, OPDT.

The OPDT also hopes the website acts as a go-to resource for faculty members as they recruit highly qualified post-doctoral fellows.
“Post-docs make a considerable contribution to the research enterprise at Queen’s as they gain relevant training for their future careers,” says Brenda Brouwer, Vice-Provost and Dean School of Graduate Studies. “The Office of Post-Doctoral Training in the School of Graduate Studies is establishing itself as a valuable resource in supporting and meeting the professional development needs of this unique group of researchers.”
. In addition to the website, the OPDT is offering a number of services including orientation events twice a year for new and current post-docs and regular newsletters with information relevant to these scholars. The OPDT is also helping organize the .
