Earlier this fall 120 first year Queen’s students gathered on the Kingston campus to write letters to first year students studying at the Bader International Study Centre (BISC) as part of a new pen pal program. First year BISC students, pictured above, recently got together at the Castle to write back.
The pen pal program, organized by Student Services at the Castle, and the Residence Society and BISC admissions at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, helps students at the two locations get to know each other and learn about what it’s like studying on the other side of the Atlantic. The program is one in a series aimed at easing the transition that takes place when BISC students arrive at the Kingston campus for the first time as second-year students. Not having shared a first year experience with the rest of their ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ classmates, the pen pal program helps bridge the divide by introducing students via letter-writing.
