A new, loadable, multi-use staff card is now available for Queen’s staff – and comes with $5 in pre-loaded dining dollars for use at campus food outlets.
The new plastic card with photo identification replaces the old laminated card and can be used at various locations across campus, including the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC), food outlets and the library. The new card is being launched jointly by Hospitality Services and Human Resources (HR).
“This card offers much more flexibility and options for staff,” says Nicole Fowler, HR Business Officer. “It is an all-in-one card that will make transactions easy and seamless on campus.”
Similar to student and faculty cards, the staff card can be loaded with money online and used at the various outlets on campus. Hospitality Services is pre-loading each card with $5 and offering 10 per cent off any purchase with the new card on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May between 2 and 4 pm.
As part of its emphasis on staff this summer, Hospitality Services is also offering $5 barbecues every Friday in May, in lieu of $5 Fridays in the dining halls. Staff using their new card at the barbecues will also receive a special treat.
Staff can get their new cards at booths in the Queen’s Centre and Mackintosh-Corry Hall during the month of May. Photos will be taken and the cards ready within 24 hours. At time of registration, staff can also enter a draw to win tickets to a K-Rock Centre event.
Booths will be open on the following days:

May 8 – Queen’s Centre food court 11 am–1 pm
