Flags on campus are lowered in memory of Ted Grandmaison, a retired professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
Dr. Grandmaison was very well loved, respected and appreciated for his many contributions to the department, the university, to the field of combustion engineering and transport phenomena more broadly. He brought a gentle sense of humour to all his endeavours.
Dr. Grandmaison played an essential role in overseeing the department's undergraduate programs, and was tireless and tremendously committed to students.
At Dr. Grandmaison's request, there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will follow in the spring with the date to be announced. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Kingston Humane Society.
