The Art Conservation Program at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ is very pleased to announce the appointment of Emy Kim in the position of Assistant Professor (Artifacts) in the Art Conservation program as of 1 July 2019.
Emy has an MA in Conservation from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University and an MA in Art History from Williams College. Emy brings to Queen’s her diverse background as a conservator in Canada and the United States. She has worked with the Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. While in the US, Emy worked as the Outdoor Sculpture Conservator at Stanford University and as a conservator at the San Francisco Airport Museum. She received her accreditation in objects conservation from the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators.
Emy's research interests are in metals and plastics. She is currently studying protective coatings for outdoor metal sculpture.
