    Bruce welcomed his grandson, Alex McArthur (Artsci’27), to Kanata and congratulated him on being selected to sit on the AMS’ board of directors at Queen’s.

    Beverley May (MacKinnon)

    – BA’53 

    Fall 2024

    Beverley May (MacKinnon) passed away on Sept. 1, 2024, at the age of 92. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn and Diana (BNSc'82) (Don, Sc'80); her grandchildren, Stephanie and David; and her great-grandchild, Shane. 

    Following graduation from ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, Bev continued her studies at Kingston General Hospital to become an RN. She lived the majority of her adult life in Pointe Claire, Quebec, raising her family, working as a nurse at Ville Marie Social Services, and doing extensive volunteer work, including as a board member of the local Lakeshore General Hospital. For the last three years, Bev enjoyed living closer to family members in Haliburton, Ontario.

    Every summer for the past 37 consecutive years, a group of alumni who met at Queen’s in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s gather in Kingston for some golf, some beer, and some tall tales from undergrad days.     Osama and his wife, Unzila, welcomed their first child, a gorgeous boy named Raed, into the world this summer. The new parents are elated and in love with their little guy.
