Next Steps to Receiving your Provincial Attestation Letter and Letter of Acceptance
- Accept your offer by the acceptance deadline on OUAC (or in your SOLUS Student Centre if you are a CommonApp applicant).
- Pay the non-refundable $2500 CDN deposit by the acceptance deadline in your SOLUS Student Centre. Make sure to save your receipt showing payment. You will need it for Step 3.
- Complete the . Completing this form will help determine if you require a Provincial Attestation Letter or only a Letter of Acceptance for Study Permit Purposes. You must upload a receipt showing the $2500 CDN deposit payment to allow Queen’s to request your Provincial Attestation Letter and to release your Letter of Acceptance.
Once you've accepted your offer, paid your $2500 CDN deposit and completed the , Queen’s University will request your Provincial Attestation Letter from the Province of Ontario if required. Once your Provincial Attestation Letter is available, the university will send you an email to the email address you used on your application, providing you a PDF copy of your Provincial Attestation Letter (if required) and your Letter of Acceptance, required for your Study Permit application.

5. Once your Provincial Attestation Letter is available and ready to be sent you will receive two separate emails.
- The first email will contain your Provincial Attestation Letter.
- The second email will contain your Letter of Acceptance.
6. These documents are required for your Study Permit application. The university will send you PDF copies to the email address you used on your application.

5. Once your Letter of Acceptance is ready, you will receive one email containing the PDF copy of your document.
6. This document is required for your Study Permit application. The university will send you PDF copies to the email address you used on your application.

Payment Applied to your Student Account
The amount transferred to the university will be applied to your tuition and fees for the first year of study. Should you choose to pay more than the required deposit amount, any amount remaining will be used to pay future terms’ tuition and fees. Funds will not be refunded to you for any reason while you are still in Canada.  The university does not charge any service fee, nor do we pay any interest on the deposit.

Payment Instructions:
CIBC Wire Transfer: Sending funds from your bank in your home currency:
- ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ has partnered with CIBC International Student Pay for convenient payment.
- A 1% convenience fee will be applied to Direct Debit and Electronic Fund Transfer payments. Additional fees may apply to credit card payments.
- Your Confirmation Deposit is $2500 CDN. If you wish to live in residence, you are also required to pay $525 CDN to secure a room in our residences.
- Obtain an exchange rate quote for the amount you wish to pay through the CIBC portal.
- Follow the payment instructions provided on the portal. Payments should be made within 72 hours to ensure timely processing.
- Students from China can pay in CNY using China UnionPay with a convenience fee.
- Credit card payments are accepted with a convenience fee. U.S. students can use Pre-Authorized Debit (ACH) for payments.
- Review the status of your payment on the CIBC portal. Payments should reflect in SOLUS, within 5 business days.
After you Pay

Once your Provincial Attestation Letter is available, the university will send you an email to the email address you used on your application, providing you with a PDF copy of your Provincial Attestation Letter (if required) and your Letter of Acceptance, required for your Study Permit application.

- Students whose offer of admission is revoked.
- Students who applied for a Study Permit prior to August 1 using BorderPass and were denied due to reasons beyond their control.
Students applying for a study permit after August 1 are ineligible for a refund if the permit is not approved in time for the term start.
If you are unable to attend the original start term, your admission and deposit will be automatically transferred to the next available intake.
Failure to attend, except under mentioned exceptions, will result in forfeiture of the deposit fees.

- Remain an International fee-paying student.
- Maintain full-time enrollment status throughout the academic year.
- Must remain registered in both terms with a full course load.
- Should a student's status in Canada change, the credit would no longer apply.
