Support for people with disabilities and their families: this research will identify needs of families affected by disability and develop and evaluate supports available to meet those needs, with a focus on populations in low- and middle- income countries.

Examining the changing demographic, socio-economic and geographic characteristics of various groups within Canada and internationally: providing insights for Canadian public policy on Canada’s aging population and how geographies of opportunity impact Indigenous peoples, immigrants, those living with disabilities, health, and health care.

Studying the geographic dimensions of urban space, justice, and rights to better understand and support the health and well-being of marginalized populations: this research supports policy development for more equitable urban environments so that all Canadians have equal opportunities to enjoy healthy, vibrant communities, no matter where they live.

With less than half of Ontario secondary students graduating with credits in math and science, STEM subjects are in crisis. Dr. Lynda Colgan is committed to making these subjects fun and engaging for students across Canada.
