A poignant Photovoice exhibit has been popping up in various Kingston venues and was recently spotted at the North American Primary Care Research Group Annual Meeting in San Francisco. It combines images and candid quotes from Kingston area families about resiliency, despite the various challenges they face. It also demonstrates the unwavering commitment of a research team to community-engaged participatory action research and to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals.

QSUS Conference - Sustainability is Not a Sacrifice

Join QSUS, a student-run club at Queen’s seeking to connect and grow the sustainability movement in the Queen’s and Kingston communities since 2015, for their annual conference. 

The event is meant to inspire and educate the Queen’s community on how sustainable practices can be integrated into various aspects of our lives, without compromising on quality or comfort.

Various speakers will delve into the problems we currently face as a globalized society, and offer solutions that focus on the benefits of following a sustainable economic model that holds the community at its center.

Resume Fundamentals Workshop for Students

In this workshop, aligned with SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, you will learn how to use key strategies to highlight your unique skills, knowledge, and experience on your resume or CV. To get the most benefit from this workshop, it is helpful to bring a copy of your resume. If you have a specific opportunity you are applying to, bringing the role description can also be helpful.   
 
By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Identify the difference between resumes and CVs. 
  • Recognize the different sections of a resume.  
  • Understand the value of tailoring resumes to different positions.  
  • Translate your knowledge, experience, skills, and attributes into action-oriented statements. 
  • Understand how Automated Tracking Systems (ATS) are used to review resumes.

Global experts on the importance of measuring progress on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on campuses across the world will share on their expertise and case studies. The role of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is key for a global shift to a more inclusive, just and sustainable society and economy. Our panelists from the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (, UK),  (Bonn, Germany) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (, USA) will share their perspectives on why the SDGs are relevant and timely for the TVET sector and why accurately measuring progress towards achieving these Global Goals is critically important to our world and the future of our planet.
