Professor Jackie Duffin, Hannah Chair in the History of Medicine at Queen’s from 1988 to 2017, has been inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. Jackie, who is cross-appointed to Philosophy, has combined her training as a physician and historian to engage ground-breaking and infectious historical research. She has long been an advocate of history as part of medical education, to bridge the gap between medicine and the humanities, and every student who has ever attended one of her classes knows that she has been successful at engaging everybody in the room. She is also the author of over 50 peer-reviewed articles, two edited anthologies and six other books, including the award-winning Medical Miracles; Doctors, Saints, and Healing, 1588-1999. For more on this story, see the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Gazette article.
