Kaoru Miller is the owner of in Kingston and a participant in WE-CAN’s FUSION Coaching Program for women entrepreneurs. Queen’s Partnerships and Innovation leads the WE-CAN Project, which receives support from the . The mission for WE-CAN is to inspire and empower existing and aspiring women-identifying entrepreneurs, through the provision of tools, resources, expert mentors, networks and building of community, to expand existing businesses and to launch new ventures.
Kaoru Miller is a certified tea sommelier and the owner of Cha Cha Tea, a high-quality, loose leaf tea shop, in Kingston. Originally from Osaka, Japan, Kaoru opened her shop at 506 Days Road in 2006. She is a tea aficionado who loves to help tea lovers find the high-quality tea products they’re searching for. She also believes tea-drinking is a part of a healthy lifestyle.
“Fourteen years after opening my shop, I still enjoy growing my business and advising my customers about tea and its benefits,” says Kaoru.
Today, her shop offers a wide range of loose-leaf teas, accessories, and blends. Due to the lockdown, Cha Cha Tea’s physical space is currently closed, however, the business is taking orders for curbside pickup by phone, text, email, social media and online.
“My experience in the WE-CAN FUSION program so far is very positive and encouraging,” says Kaoru. “I feel confident that I can challenge myself to achieve my next goal. I’m very excited!"
