Queen’s Partnerships and Innovation is pleased to report the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 10,651,026, entitled “Method and Apparatus for Acoustic or Tactile Presentation of Chemical Spectrum Data”, on May 12, 2020, to Dr. Randy Ellis. According to the patent (attached) a chemical spectrum, such as that obtained by mass spectrometry, may be presented to a user as an audible signal or as a tactile (haptic) signal. Randy’s primary appointment is in the School of Computing, and he is also appointed as a Professor in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Surgery.
